Connectivity Division  IAMNET

Connecting the unconnected.
Solar, mesh, and priced for the people the networks skipped.

IAMNET’s version of “no fear” is “no pity”. The unconnected aren’t a charity case — they’re customers who were priced out and no longer are. Universal digital inclusion for Africa.

Plain layer · default
Put a small solar unit on a pole. It covers a wide area — a complex, a block, a stretch of a township — and about 200 people share each one. It runs on sunlight with two days of battery, and links back to the internet over whatever’s available at that spot: cellphone signal, satellite, or fibre. No digging up roads, no waiting for the grid.
tech: SmartEdge solar mesh node on a grid-independent monopole coverage / capacity: ~30,000 m² per node; 200 concurrent users; scalable by densification access / backhaul: ngFWA fixed-wireless to the user; adaptive multi-path backhaul (cellular / satellite / fibre) power: 100% solar + integrated battery, 54 h autonomy without sun moat: Airbrij patent 12,418,806 B2 — adaptive backhaul + network-management software

Our Purpose

Vision & Mission

Ensuring that geographic location is never a barrier to human potential, economic opportunity, or global connectivity across the African continent.

Vision Statement

“To be the primary catalyst for universal digital inclusion across the African continent, ensuring that geographic location is never a barrier to human potential, economic opportunity, or global connectivity.”

Mission Statement

“To bridge the digital divide by deploying robust, sustainable, and affordable wireless infrastructure. We are committed to connecting the unconnected through innovative solar-powered engineering and community-focused infrastructure across Africa.”

Flagship Initiative

Project Sediba

Sediba means “spring” — a source. It’s IAMNET’s South African rollout: Vaal Marina first (proof), then the Vaal Triangle (a full industrial district), then a million users across SA through 2026–27, with Namibia, Botswana and West Africa lined up for 2027.

Airbrij (US Partner)

IAMNET’s US technology partner. Holds the patent on the adaptive backhaul and network-management software that makes the low cost possible. Airbrij builds the core tech; IAMNET builds and runs the network on the ground in Africa.

How People Pay

A free tier paid for by light advertising. Beyond that, pre-paid top-ups through a white-label sign-in page — pick your data, pay by card or mobile money, you’re on. No cash to handle, no debt to chase.

Who Signs

Households, blocks and complexes, estates and body corporates, informal settlements, schools and clinics — anything from one building to a whole district. Landlords, developers and municipalities are often the ones who sign.

What it unlocks — say it this way One connection becomes a clinic booking, a bank account, a matric past-paper, a side business. IAMNET supplies the connection; the community does the rest.

IAMNET who's-who

NameWhat it is
IAMNET The connectivity division. We build, own and run the network in Africa.
Airbrij US technology partner. Patent holder (12,418,806 B2) for the adaptive backhaul + network-management software. Names it “Airbrij”, always with the partner context.
Project Sediba The South African rollout programme. A programme name, not a product — customers buy IAMNET, not “Sediba”.
SmartEdge The solar mesh node — the hardware + software unit on the pole. Use it in the technical layer; plain layer just says “the unit” or “the node”.
Our Infrastructure

Resilient, Independent & Fast

Utilising next-generation Fixed Wireless Access (ngFWA) and proprietary technology frameworks to solve logistical and environmental challenges across Africa.

IAMNET   A body corporate asks “what actually goes on the roof?”

Plain layer · default
One small solar unit on a pole covers your whole complex. About 200 people can be online at once through it. It runs on sunlight, keeps going for two days without any, and connects back to the internet over whatever works best at your site — cell signal, satellite, or fibre.
unit: SmartEdge solar mesh node, grid-independent monopole coverage: ~30,000 m² footprint · capacity: 200 concurrent users/node · access: ngFWA fixed-wireless backhaul: adaptive multi-path — cellular / satellite / fibre · power: 100% solar, 54 h battery autonomy

Solar Ecosystem

Integrated battery storage ensures the network remains operational regardless of unstable national power grids and load shedding.

ngFWA Architecture

High-capacity nodes delivering fibre-like speeds without the slow, expensive process of trenching remote areas and roads.

Pan-African Reach

Operating with high corporate governance standards across strategic partnerships in Southern Africa and the continent.

Community Empowerment

Measuring Success in Real Life

We punch at the cost and the gap that left people offline — never at the community. They are the hero; we supply the connection.

Digital Education

Connecting schools and students to global learning platforms and matric past-papers.

Financial Inclusion

Access to mobile banking, digital money apps, and tap-on-phone commerce for local trade.

Micro-Enterprise

Empowering local entrepreneurs and shop owners to manage inventory and reach new markets.

Health & Safety

Reliable telemedicine connections, online clinic bookings, and emergency communication.

SHOP OWNER SMARTEDGE NODE Airbrij 12,418,806 B2 STUDENT

Ordinary, Dignified, Mid-Action: Shop owners taking tap-on-phone card payments, clinic nurses logging patient files, and students studying online without data panic.

Property & Public Sector

One small solar unit on a pole.
Whole complex online.

One bill, whole estate online, zero trenching, zero maintenance burden. Whether managing a body corporate, a municipal ward, or an agricultural facility, IAMNET provides rapid turnkey deployment that keeps running through grid outages.

Body Corporates & Estates

Single-bill community connectivity or revenue-share landlord models. Covers common areas, access gates, and resident units effortlessly.

Municipalities & Ward Councillors

Rapid off-grid connectivity for public service points, clinics, and civic squares that remains online through load shedding and substation faults.

Commercial & Agribusiness

Expansive outdoor coverage for packing facilities, farm boundaries, and logistics yards where wired telecom trenching quotes are non-viable.

Access & Pricing

Priced for Real Life

We got the cost of putting a neighbourhood online down to about a loaf of bread a week per person. Free ad-supported access, or pre-paid top-ups with zero contract traps.

The IAM Group

Connect & Protect

A South African group, two divisions. IAMNET gets people online where the cables don’t reach, cheaply. IAMSECURE keeps businesses safe once they’re online. Buy either on its own; together they’re Connect & Protect.

Connectivity Division

The connectivity division. Solar-powered mesh internet for places the networks skipped. Communities, landlords, developers and municipalities buy this.

  • • Solar SmartEdge Monopoles (54h battery autonomy)
  • • Airbrij Multi-Path Adaptive Backhaul (US Patent 12,418,806 B2)
  • • Low-barrier free ad-tier and pre-paid micro-bundles
Cybersecurity Division

IAMSECURE

The cybersecurity division. The security team a growing business can’t afford to hire. Human-centric, always-on cybersecurity for South African businesses.
